When we first "met" is uncertain: Megan swears she remembers Andrew from elementary school, as the older sibling of someone in her grade, while Andrew first remembers Megan from the high school Sunday school class that her dad taught (where Megan would always come in hoping that her presence would remind her dad that Sunday school technically had ended 15 minutes ago). When we began "to know" (as opposed "to know about") each other is definitely not something that one can put a finger on. During our high school years we were very close friends. We would often spend downtime at forensic (public speaking/ debate) tournaments talking to each other or keeping each other company on the bus. We also would hang out a lot at band events (we both played trumpet for a while). Most Sunday mornings we could be found at Trinity UMC in Danville having compelling discussions about "un-told tales of the Bible". We spent many unstructured evenings at each other's houses playing board games or watching movies. We also were exercise buddies for a while and would go jogging or walking around the neighborhood. And yes, Andrew is the guy that would give Megan rides to and from school on a fairly regular basis. Also, since Megan couldn't find anyone to go to prom with her for her senior prom in 2001, Andrew agreed to go with her (even though he was dating someone else at the time). We've managed to keep in touch over several moves of Megan's parents (to Bradford then Elizabethtown PA) and both of us going to different schools after high school. We have always loved each other as friends, but we didn't "fall in love" until September of last year. After Andrew was up in Boston (and Megan was already in Maine), we started talking about things we had not ever been comfortable talking about before because we had been scared of what the other person would think of us. As such things sometimes work out, once we both pushed/jumped/fell from the pedestal the other had us on, we found out we saw eye-to-eye on everything that was important, and couldn't even imagine anyone else being a better life-partner. On October 22, 2004 Andrew proposed to Megan in the Boston Garden. Megan said "heck yeah!" Megan and Andrew were wed on December 28, 2005 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Danville, Pennsylvania in the presence of family and friends. Our pie-in-the-sky dream at the moment is to set up a Methodist monastery (or at least spiritual center) for couples (and possibly families) to live in and/or retreat to. Time to pray, time to study, and (most importantly) time to work hard and keep the place reasonably self-sustaining :o) So, if you know of anyone with a large plot of land to bequeath, you can pass on our names and dream ;o). We'd also be delighted to hear from anyone with similar aspiration. To go to the top, click here.

Megan graduated magna cum laude from Colby College in Waterville, ME on May 22 of this year with a major of philosophy and a minor of creative writing. She likes to read, write, and do crafts (including potting, knitting/crocheting, and making paper). During the summer of 2004, Megan went on a pilgrimage to Israel and volunteered on a Kibbutz (communal farm). She is currently a member of College Avenue UMC (United Methodist Church) in Somerville, MA (www.collegeaveumc.org). She values the Quaker ideals of pacifism, egalitarianism, unprogrammed worship, integrity of all activities of life with one's faith, and silently waiting for the divine light to lead in any and every matter with a calm assurance that the light is there and the light will guide. She also values the Methodist ideals of itinerant ministry (that the church is not the individual congregation, pastor, or building), the quadrilateral for spiritual discernment (scripture, tradition, reason, and life experience), and the United Methodist ability for individuals to foster their own opinions while upholding fundamental Christian doctrines ("Unity in essentials; diversity in inessentials"). Megan recently received her MTS (Master of Theological Studies) from Boston University School of Theology (http://www.bu.edu/sth). She feels called to a life of prayer and to be Andrew's partner.
